Three Kingdoms RPG Finale

Just finished watching this show tonight. What I've gotta say? WHAT ENDING WAS THAT? Well, maybe it's because that it is Producer Lau Kar Ho's last time with TVB that all his show's ending are tragic.

So the finale was during the war in Chibi. Szema Shun (Kenneth Ma) had earlier suggested to Cao Cao (Law Lok-Lam) to strap planks of wood with metal chains to form a bridge to connect all ships together so that his soldiers would not get sea sick. It was actually Zhou Yu's (Ruco Chan) idea of sending someone he "ignored" to give Cao Cao that idea. He knows that on that day, it will very windy and this will help fire to spread faster. Zhou Yu sent another of his people that he beaten up as a scheme so that Cao Cao fall into Zhou Yu's trap.

Both Sun Quan (Pierre Ngo) and Cao Cao's army were at the war ground. The weather was kinda weird. Just the right weather for Szema Shun to go back to the present. It was getting windier when the wind stopped blowing. Sun Quan questioned how can this happen when Zhou Yu said that it will be windy. Zhuge Liang (Raymond Lam) was asked to help suggest a way to win the war. He too can't think of a way to help. Sun Quan remembered earlier that Zhou Yu made an oath that he will receive death as a punishment should he fail to win the war. Sun Quan was about to chop his head off when Zhuge Liang remembered that Szema Shun said last time in determination that Zhuge Liang will win the war. So, he stopped Sun Quan from killing Zhou Yu. He said that he's willing to shorten his life to borrow some wind from God.

And so, he did some rituals. Damn, if I had a camera at hand, I will so capture the moment when Zhuge Liang was doing that. I know he was faking that whole ritual thing to "borrow some wind". But he believed in Szema Shun. And yes, the wind did come and Sun Quan was so happy. Zhou Yu should finally "kow tow" to Zhuge Liang. That guy is really "CHOK"!!

And that "beaten up" guy received signal to send the said supplies to Cao Cao but in fact, he was going there to light Cao Cao's ship on fire and the bridge was to help spread the fire from one ship to another. When Cao Cao saw that the wind came back, he was angry. He was even furious to know that all his ships are on fire. Before that, Szema Shun sneakily runs off to find Song Yao (Tavia Yeung). Cao Cao became furious and wanted to punish Szema Shun and turn around to see that he's not there. Szema Shun found Song Yao and wanted to bring her back to his hometown and showed her the weird blue time travel portal that will bring them back to his hometown. Lo and behold, he bumped into Cao Cao and ordered to kill Szema Shun. Thankfully, Fan Kan (Cheung Wing Hong) came in time to save Szema Shung.

I really love the bromance between Szema Shun and Fan Kan. What a short goodbye for Szema Shung and unknowingly to Fan Kan. So, Szema Shun and Song Yao ran towards the time portal. Unfortunately, only Szema Shun can enter and not Song Yao. So sad! So, he was brought back to the present and he fainted.

When he woke up, he was in the hospital and his family was there. Szema Shun went "missing" for about two years! That's long! Szema Shun's father (Ha Yu) was glad that he's back. And his mother's catch phrase and I think most mums will say this, "Be mature, child!" His sister explained that he was in SEA's forest and couldn't receive any phone signal. Thank God, Szema Shun had his sister that believes in him.

Szema Shun and his sister went to meet the Professor who believes in time travel to ask him about a few things.

a) That time travel portal only appears again in another less than 500 years or more than 500 years.

b) The possibility of someone from the past to come to the present is slim.

c) The people from the past can come to the future if Szema Shun were to go to the place they last

    met. I think that's what the professor said. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Szema Shun thought that he would not see Song Yao again. From then on, he became a better person. His two friends who betrayed him in the 1st episode was at his dad's restaurant to apologize to him. Szema Shun came up with a new "18 ways of HK guys". A new and improved and way better than his previous one. And at that time, there was a weather news saying that there's a typhoon. So, Szema Shun went to the place he last came back from the time portal. But it was a false alarm.

A few years later, Szema Shun has 118 fast food chains. And customers can win a Three Kingdom historical figure figurine if they can say the "18 ways of HK guys" under 10 seconds. In his office room, there's a feather hand fan that Zhuge Liang has. And there's a full body portait painting of Song Yao. While eating the pork mantao burger, he was looking at the weather condition on his computer but still no typhoon.

30 years later, I think he's around his fifties or sixties, he's still waiting for a typhoon to happen. But, he got a heart problem. Suddenly, he saw a huge typhoon on his computer screen and rushed to the same place. He was so happy that he can finally meet Song Yao again. But I think because he was too happy, he got a heart attack. I'm like, where's his bloody medication? Didn't he bring it? And he's like three feet awat from the time portal. Earlier I said the ending was tragic. Szema Shun succumbed to his illness and died there. His eyes still open, which usually means that the person has some unfinish business. Just after he died, down came Song Yao from the time portal. It's kinda funny that Szema Shun always fall down from the portal but Song Yao can come down gracefully without falling.

She looked like she was gonna cry. She saw Szema Shun on the ground and walked towards him. She bent down and touched his face. I was hoping she would say Brother Wan Shun like she always do but no. She touch his face, camera zooms out and show ends just like that. Then what will happen to Song Yao? She's from the past, how is she gonna survive in the present? So many questions!! I'm not satisfied with this ending! I still prefer Witness Insecurity's ending. At least that one provided some closure for me!

Did I mentioned in the Witness Insecurity Finale's post that there were scenes of the couple together in the credits? In Three Kingdom RPG, there were those kind of scenes too when Szema Shun was about to die.

I shall silently complain about the ending.

Witness Insecurity Finale Part 2

I'll continue where I last stop.

Back at Shawn's old house, Hui Sir is sending an email to Fuadi to tell him that he wants to go to Indonesia to find new information about Sapura's case. It was so brave of Hui Sir to go back to his own house to get his passport! But then, Shawn told Hui Sir that he shouldn't waste his time to go to Indonesia as Fuadi isn't free. Since Sapura is dead, of course he has to leave his assets to someone. And out of nowhere, an unknown lady claims that she's Sapura's mistress and wants to get half of Sapura's assets. It was said that the lady helped Sapura to get a new identity in Indonesia 33 years ago when Sapura went there. It is also said that the lady helped Sapura to he is right now. Hui Sir finds the case 33 years ago to be fishy and wants to find out more.

Shawn ask him to just forget it. He explains that the upper class society will never get arrested for doing any illegal things. He said the only way to fight against Kiu Kong San is to kill him. He even bought two penknife. What a joke! When Hui Sir ask about the upper class not getting arrested, Shawn explained that in HK, money is everything. He said that the rich just have to pay money to someone to do their dirty works and if the police investigates, the rich just have to pay someone to be the scapegoat. And what he said is so true in today's society.

Hui Sir figuring out what happened 33 years ago

Shawn suggested that maybe Kiu Kong San and Sapura either commited theft or kidnap that they got their first capital. Hui Sir said that can be a possibility. Shawn continued suggesting that they robbed a bank's van which carry money, robbed a bank, robbed a jewelry store, scams, etc.

For days, the Kiu brothers don't have news about Hui Sir whereabouts. Kiu Kong San is definitely worried that Hui Sir will find out the truth and evidences regarding it and hand it over to the police. He wants to hire two private investigator to find out his whereabouts and even to follow his uncle, aunt and both cousin brother and sister which is Jo Jo. He even wants someone to follow Chi Lam, worrying that Hui Sir will go and meet her. Ok, anyone who has relations with Hui Sir will be followed. What a huge stalker!

Back at Shawn's house, Hui Sir is still on the internet, finding for more clues. He even printed out news that happened in between 1977-1979 regarding both Kiu Kong San and Sapura and other relevent sources. He later got a call from Fuadi and asked Fuadi how Sapura got his first capital which Fuadi doesn't know since Sapura never said about it. Hui Sir made a guess that maybe Sapura and Kiu Kong San did something illegal and wanted to know from Fuadi whether Sapura acted weirdly. Well, there's one thing kinda weird that Sapura hires  a lot of bodyguards. Hui Sir was thinking that rich people hire bodyguards cause they are scared of getting kidnapped. He further conclude that both those rich moguls were once involved in a kidnapping plan.

Hui Sir said it's something to do with psychology that Sapura kidnap before that's why he hired a lot of bodyguards cause he's scared of being kidnapped. Hui Sir kinda guessed that those rich moguls kidnapped Shawn's dad and asked Shawn's relationship with Kiu Kong San. Shawn said he's a son of one of Kiu Kong San's friend. Shawn's late mother found it weird why Kiu Kong San treated their family so good. And as a joke, he owed their family in the past life when in fact he owed them in the present life. Ok, fast forward abit, all they need to do is to get Kiu Kong San's DNA because at the scene of the crime there was 3 types of blood stains.

When Hailey was packing, Hui Sir called and asked her out. She is being followed by the two PI that her dad hired.

Chi Lam : Ah Sum.

Hui Sir : You've reached? Please sit.

Chi Lam : *orders iced lemon tea* You asked me out, is there anything?

Hui Sir : Previously, I was in bad mood, I wanted to say sorry.

Chi Lam : Actually, I didn't keep it in heart.

Hui Sir : *exhales and hands out a box* For you. See whether you like it.

Chi Lam : *opens box and looks at Hui Sir with a quizzical face*

Hui Sir : Try it. If it doesn't fit, its size can be changed. (It's a bracelet)

Chi Lam : *about to put it on*

Hui Sir : Let me help you.

Chi Lam : Thanks.

Hui Sir : *puts on bracelet and purposely hurts her when closing the latch* Sorry, I injured you. I'll help you wipe. (the blood)

Chi Lam : Thanks.

Hui Sir : Are you alright?

Chi Lam : Ok, thank you.

Awkward silence.

Hui Sir : I'm sorry for always hurting you.

Chi Lam : It's a small matter, it'll heal fast enough.

Hui Sir : I have something to do, I need to leave first.

Chi Lam : Nevermind, you leave first.

Hui Sir : *gets up and walks away*

Chi Lam : *chases after Hui Sir* Ah Sum! You suddenly ask me out, suddenly gave me a gift and suddenly want to leave, did something happened that you don't want me to know?

Hui Sir : Nope, I just want to apologize. Nothing else. I'm in a hurry, I'll leave first.

Chi Lam : Ah Sum. In one week time, I'll be off to Germany. I won't come back for a year.

Hui Sir : Then remember to live a good life. Even if something happens, you must bravely face it.

It's so clear that Hui Sir loves Chi Lam. He's just feeling guilty using her to get her DNA to prove that her dad's involve in Tong Sai Ping's kidnap. Hui Sir went to see Poon Sir to hand over the DNA.

Chi Lam didn't tell that she got injured because of Hui Sir. Her dad wants her to see a doctor to check the wound but she wants to go back to her old house to choose some photos to be brought with her oversea.

The two PI were outside of Shawn's house, trying to hack into the internet that Hui Sir is using. They succeeded. They reported to Kiu Kong San that he was surfing the internet and was reading about kidnapping cases. And it was Tong Sai Ping's kidnap case. Kiu Kong San kinda figured out that Hui Sir caused Chi Lam's injury. He called his daughter and she told him what really happened.

Kiu Kong San then called his assisstant to arrange a speedboat for him. Most likely he wants to run away. He called his younger brother that Hui Sir might have found out what really happened 33 years ago and ask him to meet up together and escape. Shawn was outside Kiu Kong San's house when he drove away. He called Hui Sir to tell him about it. Hui Sir told him to wait for him and not do anything before he reaches. Shawn told him that Kiu Kong San is heading to Shek O where there's a private pier.

Kiu Kong Ho was drunk and his car bumped into another car. While he has settled things with the other driver, a police came and found out he was drunk but Kiu Kong Ho said he has something else to do and promised he would go to the police station later. But due to his leg's condition, he couldn't run far and the policeman caught up with him.

Poon Sir called Hui Sir to tell about the DNA results and it was proven that one of the blood matches Kiu Chi Lam's and shows that the two has father-daughter relationship. Hui Sir told Poon Sir that Kiu Kong San might running away.

When Kiu Kong San reached the pier and was about to leave his car, Shawn confronted him. Shawn punched him and pushed him to the ground, intending to stab him. Just when he was about to stab, Hui Sir came and jumped off his bike to stop Shawn. Didn't Hui Sir asked Shawn not to do anything? Shawn must be high on drugs!

Kiu Kong San tried to bribe Hui Sir to release even though he knows that Hui Sir isn't the type to take bribes. Kiu Kong San finally gave in. He told Hui Sir that when he is in jail, he wants Hui Sir to take care of Chi Lam. Shawn suddenly wanted to knock Kiu Kong San to death. 

I know a lot of people critisize about this scene, saying how can Hui Sir still ride a bike when he's badly injured and why don't they send him to the hospital right away. I think I can answer that. It was Hui Sir decision to leave the place without any medical assisstant. So, given that impact, his rib cage will have broke and pierced into his hearts and lungs. Maybe he knows he won't leave long, so he wants to go and meet Chi Lam for the last time. And why he can still ride the bike? Some things are left unexplainable but when a humans really needs to do something, there's always that hidden strength. Plus, Hui Sir had made a promise to Chi Lam that if he had a change of heart, he will go to see her with the helmet that she bought for him.

Kiu Kong San called Chi Lam and tell her to take care of herself and that Hui Sir is on his way to see her.

It's so sad that he died. My reaction when he was riding his bike on the way to Chi Lam was only "OH MY GOD!!!" Then when he died, I couldn't believe they ended the show like that. I just hope that Bosco Wong wil get the Best Actor this year since he did all the stunts by himself (maybe the writing scene too!) considering that this show is quite good.

Really love the duet between Linda Chung and Bosco Wong for the song 月亮代表我的心. And also all the scenes they had together at the credits.

Someone even made a fanmade alternative ending for the show. It's the ending continued with a few advertisement vid joined together.
